Hi all! Is there a good free(/shareware) NFS client for Windows? All the ones i have found are trialversions (expires after si/so many days) I am tired of using Samba and poking Linux to talk "MS" Its time to make Windows speak a functional protocol instead. There "must" be a free implementation somewhere.. -- /Rikard ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Rikard Johnels email : rikjoh@norweb.se Web : http://www.rikjoh.com Mob : +46 735 05 51 01 ------------------------ Public PGP fingerprint ---------------------------- < 15 28 DF 78 67 98 B2 16 1F D3 FD C5 59 D4 B6 78 46 1C EE 56 >

The Services For Unix (SFU) is gratis http://www.microsoft.com/windows/sfu/default.asp

Unfortunately, most windows programmers cannot figure out NFS. I've looked (GOD I've looked!) with very little success. I just use samba. You might try Microsoft's "Windows Services for UNIX" http://www.microsoft.com/windows/sfu/

Tried it out. No-go. It doesnt respond the way i want it too. It finds the computer and share (some of the time) but cant connect. (Complains about illegal computername) And if it DOES connect, it wont show me the share at all. No errors no nothing. (Not even the BSOD...) Go figure.. Its back to Samba.... ...Funny how Linux manages SMB fine, and Windows cant understand (*)nix... -- /Rikard ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Rikard Johnels email : rikjoh@norweb.se Web : http://www.rikjoh.com Mob : +46 735 05 51 01 ------------------------ Public PGP fingerprint ---------------------------- < 15 28 DF 78 67 98 B2 16 1F D3 FD C5 59 D4 B6 78 46 1C EE 56 >

Although I have dumped Windoze for the last year, I used to use a product called WinaXe from www.labf.com. It was not free but for $99 (at the time) had pretty much every feature of Exceed. john ############################################# # John N. Frankly, I'd love to see Windows handle simple tasks well, before graduating to functional protocols.. (Sorry I wasn't much help, but I couldn't resist the snide remark.) :) Don
