Hi all, I'm getting ncshans:/home/hansdp # rpm -e antivir ..failed error: %preun(antivir-2.0.8-16) scriptlet failed, exit status 1 what does this mean? Even after reinstalling the rpm --force, the problem remains Thanks Hans

I would guess because it has been updated (many times?) the files to delete have changed. -- Joe Morris New Tribes Mission Email Address: Joe_Morris@ntm.org Web Address: http://www.mydestiny.net/~joe_morris Registered Linux user 231871 God said, I AM that I AM. I would guess because it has been updated (many times?) the files to delete have changed. That would have been understandable, but unfortunately it is on a fresh install.
Is there any way to force it to remove the files? Thanks Hans

I'm getting
ncshans:/home/hansdp # rpm -e antivir ..failed error: %preun(antivir-2.0.8-16) scriptlet failed, exit status 1
... this is indicative of some process running or module that is loaded and locked. might try 'lsmod' and see if one of the 'antivir' modules is loaded. you'll have to unload it first and kill any of it's running processes. you COULD supply '--nopreun' to rpm, but i'd do what is suggested in the previous para -- /// Michael J.
