OS: Suse 9.2 pro Before the details, here's my problems: 1:I have a conflict in Yast about libchm, which i can not get rid of or overcome. 2:Install with Yast does not work where as rpm -i works. --------------------- Currently I have made fresh install of Suse 9.2 pro. Everything seemed working fine. I need to open my CHM files thus i installed xchm and the library libchm which is necessary for it. While installing xchm, yast warned me that libchm is not found. But i know i have installed it. Also i have made symbolic links to several places to solve my problem. Now, please look at below onur@linux:~> locate libchm QUOTE /opt/lib/libchm.so /opt/lib/libchm.so.0 /usr/libchm.so /usr/libchm.so.0 /usr/local/lib/libchm /usr/local/lib/libchm.a /usr/local/lib/libchm.la /usr/local/lib/libchm.so /usr/local/lib/libchm.so.0 /usr/local/lib/libchm.so.0.0.0 this are the possible places lib chm is. Please note that only libchm.so.0.0.0 is the real file and the rest are symbolic links. Now with yast i have the following conflict file IMPORTANT :(NOT exact, translated from Turkish sorry for that ) QUOTE libchm not available required: xchm requires this: libchm >= 0.35- conflict: ( ) remove the package xchm paketini sil ( ) ignore libchm.so.0 not available required xchm requires this: libchm.so.0 conflict ( ) remove the package xchm .. YAST opens and thats it. However i am able to intall with rpm -i .. Any solutions, ideas ? emperon

What is the output of 'rpm -q -f /usr/local/lib/libchm.so.0.0.0'? Yast will say it is not installed if the rpm database doesn't know it is installed - it does not matter that the file is there. I guess you did not install it from an rpm.

You can fire yast in english temporarily. LANG=en_US.ISO-8859-1 LC_ALL=en_US.ISO-8859-1 yast2 And we might help you :-) -- Cheers, Carlos Robinson
