System Specs. P200 64MB RAM 6Gig Drive. I'm setting up a firewall system via FTP install. Using the Boot Floppies. My initial Install everything goes smoothly. During the install I select the minimal install and the Rieserfs FS. On reboot after install I get a kernel Panic FS not found. However it does show the Rieserfs Module loading. I then booted a recovery floppy loaded the Reiserfs Mod then proceeded to try to mount the native FS. No luck on mount I get incorrect FS, or bad block error. I tried re-installing the OS however I began getting Unable to activate swap. SO I booted with my rescue disk once again ran fdisk repartitioned the system then ran mkswap then also mkfs to format the native partition. I was unable to format my / (paritions were /, /home swap) I tried reinstalling again and It would not activate my swap. I do not believe my disk is bad Seagate Medalist. Any one can give me some direction ? Rowan Reid Job Captain, Systems Administrator STUDIO 3 ARCHITECTS 909 982 1717
yes,
System requirements
You need at least 96MB main memory. To install on a machine with less memory a (linux) swap partition is necessary.
Up your RAM.

If adding more ram is not possible, can I manually partition the disk, and create a swap partition. Boot from a floppy run fdisk(linux) partition the disk. Then run mkswap, then swap on. No ?
