re: [SLE] plain vanila Kernel sources in 8.2
I have 8.2 pro and installed the suse kernel. However I also need the plain vanila kernel sources but could not find them.
Are they included in the distribution and if so what package is it.
Thank you for your response.

If you have the bandwidth, the simplest thing is to download vanilla kernel sources straight from http://kernel.org/ Otherwise, you can probably extract the vanilla sources from the suse srpm for their kernel. I would have to experiment, or hope Anders saves the day and gave me the commands. :-) Good Luck, Greg -- Greg Freemyer

A comedian Sarcasm aside, experiment with "tar xjf". The vanilla sources are in kernel-source-2.4.20.src.rpm on DVD2 or the src directory on the ftp server. That rpm also contains all patches SuSE has applied to make the "SuSE kernel", all nicely split up.
