Does anybody run everybuddy on SuSE? I tried 0.1.5 which came with SuSE 7.1, then compiled 0.2.0, then 0.2.1beta6. The result is the same, all of them segfault. I know of positive experience with everybuddy on Mandrake, so what may be wrong on SuSE? It's 7.1 Pro w/kernel 2.4.2 THanks, -Kastus
Works fine here...I'm using a self-compiled 0.2.1beta6. I just ran it as usual..configure,make,make install. If you can't get it to compile..I can always make a tarball of the files for you...and send it off. :) * Konstantin (Kastus) Shchuka (kastus@tsoft.com) [010705 16:26]: ->Does anybody run everybuddy on SuSE? -> ->I tried 0.1.5 which came with SuSE 7.1, then compiled 0.2.0, then 0.2.1beta6. ->The result is the same, all of them segfault. Thanks Ben, I can compile it, it starts and allows me to edit my account. But whenever I go online, it segfaults. Under gdb it produces: (gdb) run Starting program: /usr/local/bin/everybuddy [New Thread 1024 (LWP 26246)] deleting stale lock file Can't open contact file(/netmount/home/kastus/.everybuddy/contacts) for reading: No such file or directory Came in need_proxy_auth. Type 0 1 Program received signal SIGSEGV, Segmentation fault. [Switching to Thread 1024 (LWP 26246)] eb_aim_logout (account=0x0) at aim-toc.c:728 728 alad = (struct eb_aim_local_account_data *)account->protocol_local_account_data; (gdb) I looked at prefs and compared them to gaim, which worked for me. Connections tab for AIM specified port 21 --while gaim was using 9898. I changed port setting and was able to connect finally without segfault. Ain't it strange, this default setting for AIM? Finally, I can communicate with co-workers. Thanks again, -Kastus

It's 7.1 Pro w/kernel 2.4.2
I am currently running Everybuddy 0.2.0 on 7.2, did so on 7.1, and on 6.3 a previous version or two. -- Bob Rea Fear of Hell is pernicious; So is fear of Heaven. rear@sirius.com http://www.sirius.com/~rear
