You'll need to install a program called mknod off the suse CDs (or maybe just download from the web..? :)) i guess suse7.3s mknod will be fine, its a fairly stable program. then cd to /dev ls -l sr1 check out the line brw------- 1 ejl users 11, 1 Mar 23 19:47 sr1 and and run "mknod sr0 b 11 0" where the 11 is the first of the 2 numbers around the comma (they are the major+minor device numbers), 0 will be the minor number of sr0 Ewan On Thu, 2002-05-23 at 22:53, Bart Symons wrote:

To: suse-linux-e@suse.com In a failed attempt to get my combind CDROM/CD-RW/DVD to work properly with CDBakeOven I accidentily deleted /dev/sr0. The net result is that now I cannot use the symlink /dev/cdrecorder -> /dev/sr0 anymore.
How can I recreate the /dev/sr0 device?
