Just my 2¢ - Kylix on SuSE 7.2
Hi list, just wanted to share my experience. I recently received Kylix Desktop Developer for Linux, and installed it on SuSE 7.2. Gotta say - this package rocks my sox off :-) I have had no trouble with it so far, and I wholeheartedly recommend it for all that want to develop desktop applications, and have a previous experience with Delphi or Turbo Pascal. Probably is good for newbies as well. -tosi

It is fantastic. The server version is even better!
I have had no trouble with it so far
The debugger is supposed to be a bit flaky under the 2.4 kernel, but I have not had any problems. Cheers Phil

I went to the Linux Expo in London yesterday and saw a couple of Borland demos. Kylix looks the absolute business. The guy produced a text editor in minutes using drag and drop of widgets. Software development purists might not like visual development tools, but s**t, they are incredibly powerful for what they are good at. Better yet, the free version of Kylix (for GPLed application development only IIRC) should be downloadable in a couple of weeks. Just a shame the prices for JBuilder5, which I could really use, are prohibitively expensive at the moment.
Hi. I've tried to install it on my SuSE 7.1 and stops while looking for dependencies of libraries, exactly about glibc2.1. I'm reluclant to go back to SuSE 7.0 which comes with glibc2.1. Shouldn't it be better to work with glibc 2.2??? Is there anything i should know to make it work, or i have to install SuSE 7.0 with glibc2.1 Sincerely Oxiel 6, escribiste:
