For over 2 weeks now, there's been an OpenOffice update, but due to dependencies, I can't get it. Now, since yesterday, there's a new kernel, (I need the nVidia version) but because of a dependency, which isn't listed, I can't get that either. Can we assume someone is going to fix all the dependency issues.....soon?! I could speak for the "kernel update" isssue. I assume you are using openSUSE 11.1. We are preparing a kernel update for openSUSE 11.1, this is not yet released. This kernel update will integrate fixes done meanwhile in preparation of our upcoming enterprise release and we want to provide this stabilization work also with the openSUSE community. The trade off is a changed kABI which needs adopted KMPs. The full coordination with external KMP providers (like NVidia, ATI, etc.) is hardly possible for various reasons (time zones, time slots etc.). In this case NVidia released already newer KMPs matching the upcoming kernel while we finishing our quality assurance process for this kernel. PackageKit isn't good at solving conflicts. Doesn't 'zypper patch' or YaST's Online Update work for you? For over 2 weeks now, there's been an OpenOffice update, but due to dependencies, I can't get it. Now, since yesterday, there's a new kernel, (I need the nVidia version) but because of a dependency, which isn't listed, I can't get that either. Can we assume someone is going to fix all the dependency issues.....soon?!

PackageKit isn't good at solving conflicts. Doesn't 'zypper patch' or YaST's Online Update work for you?

(And knowing the exact dependency issues would help, too)

You're correct.....PackageKit is deficient, to say the least. :( I posted the list. Yast's Online Update is where I'm getting the errors, which requires a LOT of down grading to upgrade a few. NADA!
