SuSE 8.1 How do I remove the post-grub system initiation splash screen? Thanks in advance. -- Stephen P. Molnar, Ph.D. Life is a fuzzy set Foundation for Chemistry Multivariant and stochastic http://web.jadeinc.com/FoundationChem
Could this be the entry under YaST -> System -> runlevel editor -> runlevel properties -> splash? I don't know exactly, but since it is set up for runlevels 1 through 5 and S in a standard system it might be it. Best regards, Alex. On Fri, 24 Oct 2003, Stephen P. Molnar, Ph.D. wrote:

Change the gfxmenu line to have a '#' in front of it (comment it out) and then set vga=normal on your kernel line(s) -- +----------------------------------------------------------------------------+ + Bruce S. What about using a company logo or personal pic as background. As I
remember 8.0 had that feature.
How would that be done.

Replace /etc/bootsplash/themes/SuSE/images/bootsplash-1024x768 (or whatever is used in your system) with your picture of choice, then run /sbin/mk_initrd. You will need to edit /boot/grub/menu.lst to splash=verbose. David -- Vah! Denuone Latine loquebar? Me ineptum. Interdum modo elabitur
