When I first installed SuSE8 I had a nice green screen surounding the system loading text, also on a green background, which was black. I now have a full screen with a black background to the the text which is mostly white except for the words "Done". Where has this nice screen gone and how do I get it back? As root, run "mkinitrd", then run "lilo", then reboot. I think the initrd controls the framebuffer background image, but it might just be the start menu image. Ewan On Fri, 2002-05-31 at 20:41, Keith Jacobs wrote:

Thanks Ewan Afraid that did not work, the screen is fine for the lilo menu but whilst SuSE boots or shutsdown its just boring old white on black. It's only a small niggly thin but it would be nice to get it right. Keith As root, run "mkinitrd", then run "lilo", then reboot.
