[07-29-09 13:01]: I have a web site dodin.org working.
I have some time to time to setup folders with big files, so I want to have them on an other partition.
for example the moodyblue files should be on /data/moodyblue and the web server have a link in htdocs moodyblue->/data/moodyblue
and to /etc/apache2/httpd.conf.local
Options followsymlinks </Directory> then rcapache2 graceful-reload
I already have DocumentRoot /home/www/htdocs Options +Includes +FollowSymLinks (and according to the doc FollowSymLinks is default) apache don't give any syntax error on a special folder created on the same htdocs folder for testing purpose I have also in the logs: "Symbolic link not allowed or link target not accessible: /home/www/htdocs/test" but from the xterm, ls test gives the listing of test2... is there a way with apache2 to have the list of options (like postconf -n), to see if somewhere the follow is disabled? thanks jdd -- http://www.dodin.net http://valerie.dodin.org http://news.opensuse.org/2009/04/13/people-of-opensuse-jean-daniel-dodin/ -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

I missed the beginning of this thread, but do you have your link targets configured as directories in apache? If you can't access them directly you also can't have them as targets of symlinks. If this is the case, and you don't want to add directory entries for them, then you could consider a bind mount instead (mount --bind /data/moodyblue /srv/www/htdocs/moodyblue) Anders -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org
