[SLE] Why KDE2 does not use Xdefaults and Xmodmap for the user
Hi everyone, After installing KDE2 with no problems at all. I have the noticed I can no longer type in with the Turkish characters. Unlike the KDE 1.1.2 where I could have defined the Turkish keyboard layout, KDE2 decided it is not necessary (then why on the earth I spent hours translating KDE2 to Turkish is a question to be addressed to KDE) I have defined the Xmodmap files for the Turkish keyboard using Xkeycaps, and I can type the Turkish characters in Netscape yet I am unable to type anything in Turkish with the KDE applications. I couldn'locate the kbd driver files for KDE2 which I was hoping to find a solutions from them. Any ideas how can I fix this stupid keyboard non functionality. I had added things for Netscape in .Xdefaults file (for instance the colors) they are not taken into condideration by KDE2. Where does it define in the KDE2 start scripts to use what Xmodmap and Xefaults Thanks -- Togan Muftuoglu toganm@turk.net 100% MS FREE Absolutely no component of Microsoft was used in the generation or posting of this e-mail.
