[opensuse] mirroring with rsync
Hello, Using rsync to copy data, however I can't find the correct syntax to delete files on target server if they are no longer on the source server. Using; rsync -rpvougtnR --delete /data/ user@remote_server:/data/ yet the dry run is not showing the desired results. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you, James -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

I use rsync -avz --progress --delete source:/path/ /path I'm usually pulling from a remote server to local instead of the other way around - but I've found that the trailing slash is significant (as is the lack of it on the destination). The trailing slash made all the difference in the world. All the best, James -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

I use rsync -av --delete /source.data/ /mirror #<-- "/mirror" with or without backslash at the end of mirror -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org
