Hello SuSE folks, I can't understand what happened with POP3 server in SuSE 7.1 I installed imap package (n) IMAP, POP2 and POP3 mail server and now my wife can't get her e-mails over POP3 from my Linux server. I didn't have any problems setting POP3 server in SuSE 7.0 distro. Could somebody clarify please what else is involved in getting POP3 to work on this new SuSE7.1 distro. Thanks in advance. Hi Alex, what happens if you telnet to port 110 (telnet localhost 110)? I do not know 7.1, since I do not dare to upfrade for the reason you stated above.. ;-) In 7.0, some packages (i.e. sendmail) were compiled with the tcpwrapper library and if you were using /etc/hosts.deny, you had a problem. If you do not use hosts.deny / hosts.allow my comments are meaningless. give that telnet a try anyway. Btw. I saw the SuSE-Roadshow start in Essen yesterday. 7.1 *is* great. Big improvements, nice eye candy (the new lilo...) all great. But it's the problems you state that keep me happy with the state I've archived here.
