Announce: new APT repository
Announcing a new APT repository containing packages for SuSE that are not GNOME related. At the moment it contains camE which is the webcam software I use on my site (because someone asked for it), and it's dependency, giblib, but it'll probably grow. It's available for SuSE 9.0 and 9.1. To access it, add the relevant line from below to your /etc/apt/sources.list: rpm ftp://ftp.gwdg.de/pub/linux/suse/apt/ SuSE/9.0-i386 suser-jogley rpm ftp://ftp.gwdg.de/pub/linux/suse/apt/ SuSE/9.1-i386 suser-jogley Also, now I have a new PSU in my build machine, there should be packages of GNOME 2.7.92 (which was released today) going into the usr-local-bin repository soon. I'm retiring the site www.usr-local-bin.org, merging it with my personal site, so future packages will go straight into the APT repository. Enjoy. -- James Ogley, Webmaster, usr local bin & Planet SuSE james@rubberturnip.org.uk www.rubberturnip.org.uk Updated GNOME packages for SUSE LINUX: www.usr-local-bin.org Latest SUSE News and Blogs: www.planetsuse.org

James, did I miss Gnome 2.6 somehow? Not that I particularly like what I have seen, but I'd have been interested in trying out your packages. David

I'd suggest having a read back through my blog, specifically you might want to read http://swamprat.homeunix.org/index.cgi/2004/07/06#20040706 and http://swamprat.homeunix.org/index.cgi/2004/07/09#20040709 -- James Ogley, Webmaster, usr local bin & Planet SuSE james@rubberturnip.org.uk www.rubberturnip.org.uk Updated GNOME packages for SUSE LINUX: www.usr-local-bin.org Latest SUSE News and Blogs: www.planetsuse.org

Thanks, James, and for all the work you put in. David
