chmod will not work, you have to edit fstab. Print here the single fstab line pertaining to that mount. Tell who do you want to have access, anybody or a single user. - -- Cheers / Saludos, Carlos E. It is Gunnar (me) who want to access to my windows disk. I have my picture and other stuff here. /dev/disk/by-id/ata-SAMSUNG_SP1213C_0694J1FWC11017-part1 /windows/C ntfs-3g user,users,gid=users,fmask=133,dmask=022,locale=nb_NO.UTF-8 0 0 Gunnar -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org

If you want everybody to have access, change to:
/dev/disk/by-id/ata-SAMSUNG_SP1213C_0694J1FWC11017-part1 /windows/C ntfs-3 defaults 0 0
I you want that only "gunnar" has access, do:
/dev/disk/by-id/ata-SAMSUNG_SP1213C_0694J1FWC11017-part1 /windows/C ntfs-3 user,users,uid=gunnar,gid=users,fmask=133,dmask=022,locale=nb_NO.UTF-8 0 0
I haven't checked the mask; the above change is to correct the ownership; to change permissions you need to play with fmask (files) and dmask (directories). - -- Cheers / Saludos, Carlos E. R. I cannot remember if it was Felix or Rajko who told me this, but to be able to read/write to a Windows partition set fmask=0111 and dmask=0000. Now, I don't know how this would affect any ownership considerations but I use this and I am the only user of my computer. That would allow "others" to read and write it. Yes, you do not have other people, but it is not correct. :-) - -- Cheers / Saludos, Carlos E. R. Hi Is this a domain with kerberos auth? If not, does smb://server/share get you there via .gvfs under e.g. Nautilus? If still not, an automount with sec=krb5? L x -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org

Did anybody get apcupsd-3.14.10 to work with SuSE 12.1 64 Bit? All the hiddev stuff seems to be not working and the things in the APC manual are not helping either. Did someone get this to work and can show us a step by step guidance? (I had this working with apcupsd-3.14.7 on a SuSE 10.3 machine) Thanks in advance -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org

Just the remove the fstab entries, the desktop takes care to mount the disks then. cu Ludwig -- (o_ Ludwig Nussel //\ V_/_ http://www.suse.de/ SUSE LINUX Products GmbH, GF: Jeff Hawn, Jennifer Guild, Felix Imendörffer, HRB 16746 (AG Nürnberg) -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org

Not by default, you have to click on them, IIRC. - -- Cheers / Saludos, Carlos E. R.
