Yes, you can. Just do cd / then sudo umount /home and make fstab changes (if not done already) and remount sudo mount -a
Thanks Ben, But now I have to find a way to get past the open files: 22:01 bonza/> sudo umount /home umount: /home: device is busy I have to keep the network up since I'm at the other end. It's ugly, but I could alway just reboot the damn thing... I know there has to be a more elegant solution to this problem. I'll poke around a little more. -- David C. You can try lazy umount, but it is kind of dirty, programs with open files will fail, data can/will be lost. The filesystem shouldn't be damaged, but... can't guarantee it. Try remount first. - -- Cheers, Carlos Robinson -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v2.0.9 (GNU/Linux) iEYEARECAAYFAkknkqwACgkQtTMYHG2NR9W71gCfWl/Bkyz7TIg9tJbiUq8mA7Sy dVkAoIww5k7SwDNDpi1ZyRodHHPzPjIc =7RRf -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org
