Hi all, I am having problems using Kinternet under Suse 9.0 (kernel 2.4.21-199). I am using a Conexant HCF modem with the drivers from linuxant.com, and it works fine when using "ifup ppp0" and "ifdown ppp0" from the command line (as root). But when using Kinternet the connection will not connect to smpppd. Here is the log file for connecting and disconnecting using ifup and ifdown as root: SuSE Meta pppd (smpppd-ifcfg), Version 1.06 on linux. Josh Yep... Conexant doesn't like kinternet. I use wvdial, myself, and have had absolutely no problems with it --unlike kinternet and even kppp.

Yep... Conexant doesn't like kinternet. I use wvdial, myself, and have had absolutely no problems with it --unlike kinternet and even kppp. I have an internal 3Com USR modem and it was easy to configure using kppp. when I did have problems with it, as it is a semi-winmodem, folk suggested I try wvdial or kinternet. I did and was not able to get anywhere with them. going back to kppp and solving it there worked a charm.
