Apex/Digitrex/Colorado DSC-3500Z Camera?
I bought my wife one of the $$59.95 (with $20. rebate) digital cameras on sale at TigerDirect. It is labeled Digitrex DSC-3500Z but appears as an Apex on some Google searches and shows up under Yast as a Colorado Digital Camera. It is not detected by Digikam under Suse 9.1 or 9.2. Anyone talking to one of them under Suse? I am going to set it to use the SD card only for now because I can access that ... will pull the Christmas Eve images off the internal 16m of memory using the Office laptop if necessary. -- Thanks! & 73, doc kd4e A blessed and joy-filled Christ-mas to all! I'd suggest you try the usb-mass-storage driver... I use it for my digital cam... Hotplug detects it and loads drivers automatically then I can access the pix as files on /dev/sda1 Create a mount-point in say /media/camera It's easy enough to make a entry in the fstab to mount the device as needed... /dev/sda1 /media/camera vfat rw,noauto, user 0 0 All else fails hit the linux-usb website and lookup device... Hope This helps Pagan On Saturday 25 December 2004 16:24, doc wrote:

Try gphoto2 and the list www.gphoto.org I tried one of those instamatics but the lens was junk F2.8. Best to get a camera with a memory card and then get one of the 9-1 card readers then it works like a flash drive. For your better cameras try www.photoworks.com which returns dital photos to you with a new film etc. -- _______ _______ _______ __ / ____\ \ / / ____|_ _\ \ / / | | \ \ /\ / / (___ | | \ \ / / | | \ \/ \/ / \___ \ | | \ \/ / | |____ \ /\ / ____) |_| |_ \ / \_____| \/ \/ |_____/|_____| \/
