[opensuse] Q : Customization of live disc possible?
Hello all again, Just another quick question while I am thinking about it... Does anyone know if it is possible and if there is any documentation on how to modify the live DVD image to add your own software? Yes, it is possible ! "mklivecd" and "morphix" projects have extensive documentation about doing it. But it's not easy enough yet to be widely deployed by every noob. I hope it will be dead easy in the future. "knoppix" also has some limited info on that topic. Or rescuing data when the hard drive or your system seems to go nuts . It always seems to do that the day of or the day before the scheduled backups. I haven't tried w/ the latest Knoppix, but one could boot from it, and actually save files to remote drives , CDs or DVDs and similar. A version customized to make that easier would be nice. Not necessary, but nice.
