[SLE] Suse-6.3: KSCD thinks disk always Ejected....
I've recently upgraded to Suse 6.3 (from 6.2) and now many things seem to be broken. Among these is Kscd. I can start it without any problem, but no matter what music CD I have in the CD-player, the Kscd screeen displays the message "Ejected" and I can't play the CD. This didn't happen before the upgrade. My CD player is an ATAPI Wearness CD-ROM. I'm using the latest OSS sound drivers and I have a Soundblaster AWE-64 Gold card. I know the CD works (I can mount it, read data discs that are loaded in there etc.) and the sound works fine (I can play wav files, midi files etc). Has anyone seen this type of error before? Does anyone have suggestions as to how to fix it? Many thanks. Try removing the file:~/.kde/share/config/kscdrc and then restarting kscd. This did the trick for me once long ago. BTW, does the random play feature work for you (or anyone)? It always pauses after playing the first song it comes to.
