After installation of KDE 2.01 from SuSE ftp site Netscape mid plugin (plugger3.2) stop working under KDE 1.12. I received msg: No sound card found. Couldn't open ALSA pcm device. I have SB PCI 128. I have both KDE's.

I had a similar problem. I was using the emu10k1-0.4.SuSE-30 with an SB-LIVE card. After installing KDE2.0 I had no sound and got some error messages but don't remember what they were. I guessed that kde2 didn't like emu10k1-04.0. I used yast2 to reconfigure my sound card and all worked after that. I had alsa installed also. I think yast2 may use that instead of the emu10k1???
