Poor little server :-)
Is it the final version?
Think so, but the announcement is not yet made. Maybe some of the Novell/Suse staff can tell. -- Ciao, Marcel http://www.kubus-ng.net Yes, we're open!

I doubt they will tell, because they have to wait for the official anouncements. Just guessing here. I think it might just be a badly configured FTP server. The server is dead slow, so very likely. houghi -- Nutze die Zeit. Sie ist das Kostbarste, was wir haben, denn es ist unwiederbringliche Lebenszeit. Hello, houghi írta:

I'm seeding with 2x1.5MB/s (would be 10MB/s, but old machines can't do more, the CPU is the limit). I'm just preparing a 3rd seeder... Bye, CzP

houghi it's not the problem
I just imagine that BiTorrent has a md5sum system and don't try tyo download on not syn server. also only one server was given on the post so could be down if somebody post it on a wide forum... jdd -- http://www.dodin.net http://dodin.org/galerie_photo_web/expo/index.html http://lucien.dodin.net http://fr.susewiki.org/index.php?title=Gérer_ses_photos

It used to be a problem, where bittorrent got a speed of around 20-30K and FTP would be much faster. It looks like it is going to be better now. houghi -- Nutze die Zeit. Downloaded the RC3-GM deltas and the GM non-OSS ISO using BitTorrent. Wondering why KTorrent does not say "seeding". -- Tux #395953 resides at http://samvit.org playing with KDE 3.52 on SUSE Linux 10.0 $ date [] CCE +2006-05-11 W19-4 UTC+0530

No idea, but the torrent are really fast. 250kB-300kB oss and non-oss combined. houghi -- Nutze die Zeit. Sie ist das Kostbarste, was wir haben, denn es ist unwiederbringliche Lebenszeit. Leben ist aber mehr als Werk und Arbeit, und das Sein wichtiger als das Tun - Johannes Müller-Elmau

I only have 28K max upload. Download is always relative to upload. I asume that if I were able to get higher upload, download would be higher as well. However if I use anything higher (40K being the theoretical max) speed goes down. houghi -- Nutze die Zeit. Sie ist das Kostbarste, was wir haben, denn es ist unwiederbringliche Lebenszeit. I usually have about 50K/s upload (actual payload) on my 640bps ADSL line. But downstream was recently almost quadrupled - from 1540 to 5600kbps. (And I live in a place where we initially were told "no ADSL possible"). /Per

If you set the upload speed at maximum, you get in fact lower download speed because you can not send your ACKs fast enough. You have got to lower it a bit. Also, about your comment about bittorrent being slow sometimes, its because it is a "collaborative" server. It is only fast when there are many people collaborating (and seeding as they go). So, it takes some time before it gathers speed, and once the big wave passes, it will slow again. The problem I have with it is that it invariably crashes my ADSL router after a few hours. - -- Cheers, Carlos Robinson -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.4.0 (GNU/Linux) Comment: Made with pgp4pine 1.76 iD8DBQFEZGZEtTMYHG2NR9URAtXYAJ9Qn2a6pomjYQy7EVvTLe8FwscNngCgkPr2 sy7nlpz3RCGKR440X5XTibs= =gPCK -----END PGP SIGNATURE-----

may be you have not a fixed IP? and an other problem is that as soone they have downloaded, people start installing and this shut down the seed :-( jdd -- http://www.dodin.net http://dodin.org/galerie_photo_web/expo/index.html http://lucien.dodin.net http://fr.susewiki.org/index.php?title=Gérer_ses_photos

Of course. But that doesn't affect the router/firewall, it would crash the same.

Of course. Well, after they burn the CDs ;-) Me, I wait. I don't have time to install right now. OK, but remember you have promised us at http://lists.opensuse.org/archive/opensuse/2006-Feb/1254.html that there will be a DVD image too. The dvds have non-oss.. hence are not - and will not be - on openSUSE mirrors. Don't worry - the cds will be there.. just like they are for 10.0.. http://en.opensuse.org/Media_layout By the way.. I believe there was some problem with not all mirrors being able to host very large files (~4 gigs). So maybe you won't be able to find it on every mirror. cb400f

The mirrors from ftp.suse.com instead of ftp.opensuse.org houghi -- Nutze die Zeit. Sie ist das Kostbarste, was wir haben, denn es ist unwiederbringliche Lebenszeit. Leben ist aber mehr als Werk und Arbeit, und das Sein wichtiger als das Tun - Johannes Müller-Elmau
