Hi all, I have installed Suse 9.0 pro. I can download email with the KMail program. When I try to send, I am having trouble. I'll use made up settings, but they will follow the patterns. In windows /eudora (Works): Name: My Name POP Account: myaddress%xyzisp.com@mail7.xyzisp.com SMTP: smtp8.xyzisp.com In Kmail: Receiving (works): Login: myaddress@xyzisp.com Host: mail7.xyzisp.com Sending: Name: My Name Host: smtp8.xyzisp.com with the above settings I get this error: "Domain name required for sender address" I have tried a bunch of different combinations for the Host, but so far, no luck. Most cause "unknown server" kind of errors. The dumbest thing is, that before I did the re install, I had it working. Since I had little trouble getting it to work the first time, I wasn't worried about doing it again, but I must have missed something. I liked the way it worked, and that and a few other things have made moving more of my computers to linux higher priority. Thank you, Dave Dave Tief. N1WWY, Addie Tief. When you set up an identity in kmail you need to give both a Name and an email address. Well, actually the name isn't strictly necessary, but it will appear in the From: header of your mail, so it looks nicer. The error seems to suggest that you put in a name, but didn't fill in the 'email address' field. On the same dialog there is also a field for 'Organisation', but that isn't necessary to make it work
