Insert DHCPD clients in local DNS
Hello Susers, I have a local server running a DHCP deamon and a local DNS (bind 8). I want that when DHCPD gives an IP for a client, it inserts this IP address into the local DNS. So you can clients by their names no matter what IP they were allocated. I used "ddns-update-style ad-hoc" in the /etc/dhcpd.conf and does not work.

Which version of DHCPd are you running? I believe that feature is only available in version 3.x. Victor -- Victor R. Cardona Powered by SuSE Linux 7.1 (i386) Professional GPG key ID E81B3A1C Key fingerprint = 0147 A234 99C3 F4C5 BC64 F501 654F DB49 E81B 3A1C

This is the ISC deamon that comes with SuSE 7.2: Internet Software Consortium DHCP Server V3.0rc4 Shall it be working right?
