right click on the KDE desktop and select the option "Configure Desktop" and follow your nose from there... alternatively; click on the K buton at the bottom and select the "Control centre" menu entry and then click on "Appearance and Themes" and then "Background"...
I have a few of my own from a win311 program which creates fractile images. I store them in another directory from the default and they work fine. Also have fun dont use the same one for each desktop. CWSIV On Tue, 2004-01-13 at 04:59, Paul Cooke wrote:

Wallpapers are stored (if using KDE) in /opt/kde3/share/wallpapers . Copy yuur wallpapers into that directory (you will need to be root to do this) and then install the wallpaper(s) on your Desktop the usual way (ie, right-click on desktop then Configure Desktop/Background/Wallpaper). Cheers, -- Indecision is the key to flexibility.

Wallpapers are stored where ever you want to store them. Right click the desktop, select Configure desktop, select Background, and browse to where ever you want to keep your wallpapers. -- _____________________________________ John Andersen

I don't believe you have to copy them to that directory in order to use a pic as wallpaper. easiest way is to open your .kde directory ( it's in your home directory.. if you can't "see it" tell konqi to show hidden files... then kde->share -> wallpapers, copy the files, or even better link them to that directory ( usually when you select a lot of files by holding down the control key as you click things and move them to the desired location ( let go of the control key as you move to the desired location and just drop the files) it will ask you if you want to move or copy or link ... select link and then open the desktop configuration setting ( right click on your desktop anywhere ) when you select the background and the wallpaper choice.. where is says "browse" you should see your wallpapers there.... -- j nemo me impune lacessit wwEd it's just an afterthought; okay ? : Kirk has 3 ears: left, right, and a final front ear!
