Hi Folks, I have a CA810A mb and I have recently installed SuSE 6.3 but... when trying to set-up X it fails and I get the following from the ServerLog: =============================================================================== XFCom_i810 Version 1.0.0 / X Window System (protocol Version 11, revision 0, vendor release 6300) Release Date: October 13 1999 If the server is older than 6-12 months, or if your card is newer than the above date, look for a newer version before reporting problems. When reporting a problem related to a server crash, please send the full server output, not just the last messages ============================================================================ This is all really nice, but it doesn't give me a clue about what I should do to fix the problem. Any thoughts? You forgot to `modprobe agpgart', which is a necessary step with 810 chipsets. I'd recommend putting `/sbin/modprobe agpgart' in your /sbin/init.d/boot.local file, too. -- -=|JP|=- Jon Pennington | Atipa Linux Solutions -o) jpennington@atipa.com | http://www.atipa.com /\\ Kansas City, MO, USA | 816-241-2641 x121 _\_V -- To unsubscribe send e-mail to suse-linux-e-unsubscribe@suse.com For additional commands send e-mail to suse-linux-e-help@suse.com Also check the FAQ at http://www.suse.com/Support/Doku/FAQ/
