-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 . I still haven't found a satisfactory office suite. Being the contrarian I am, I've been looking at Applixware. Google comments are almost universally positive, and it seems to import WP and M$Wierd docs correctly, as well as 123 and HExel spreadsheets. Sounds great. But before I lay out the hard-earned money, is anyone using the Applixware suite? Feedback? If they are for real, I'll support a good underdog all the way. Still clinging to Wordperfect but must let go now. -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.0.6 (GNU/Linux) Comment: For info see http://www.gnupg.org iD8DBQE80zlpnQ18+PFcZJsRAmOPAJ0Tw7NvUf6FN4fBbgZRG+MLCRoFCgCfez7g eD5ECjrtoE/Y/o8PCtilanY= =6Dah -----END PGP SIGNATURE-----

I started with Applixware 4.41 and still am using 4.42 on SuSE 7.3. I skipped Applixware 5, I like original Applix graphic tool kit more than GTK, but that's my personal preference. The current product is called Anyware (www.vistasource.com). I haven't tried it, so I can't say anything about it. I have been subscribed to Applixware mailing list since 1998, the traffic on the list was non-existent for several months last year, compared to tens messages a day during 1999. It does not look like a popular product today. I am just satisfied with what I get in 4.42. It serves my needs very well. YMMV, of course ;-) -Kastus

Have you tried OpenOffice 1.0 that was just released last week? I find it more than satisfactory, and you don't have to spend your hard earned money to use it. You can find it at: http://www.openoffice.org Best Regards, Keith -- LPIC-2, MCSE, N+ Got spam? Get spastic http://spastic.sourceforge.net

Thanks, I will try this. The older OO was not bad, but did not import WP files, in which I have years of work. Not to mention 123 files. -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.0.6 (GNU/Linux) Comment: For info see http://www.gnupg.org iD8DBQE809QInQ18+PFcZJsRAj2jAJ98ddFBUKtVk4svphyr77PR9iwhgACdFaq8 y5PstbvLmZIsJ3rsHQNEiPc= =ti8z -----END PGP SIGNATURE-----
