Hello all: I've been running a 8.1 system for sometime now without any problems. Apache has been running nicely until today. I modify the config file to add a new virtual domain and try to restart the server and get the following error: PHP Fatal error. Unable to start session mm module in Unknown on line 0 Apache doesn't start and the above error is in the error_log. Does anybody know how to fix this so that I can start my webserver? -Thanks, Jim

I fixed this by using YaST->Sysconfig Editor->Kernel->SHMFS_SIZE=33554432 It seemed to have broken after a YOU update, and the error is misleading. It turns out, PHP is requesting a larger shared memory segment than you have available, which is why mm can't initiate a session. Mark Almeida
Thanks much. My Yast(2) doesn't appear to have the kernel options so I just modified the file directly. I suppose I need to put in the command in the local startup file now? Thanks, Jim
