Yes, it looks like the file has been dropped from the package with the introduction of GNOME2. SuSE 8.0 still had it. I think it's because of a mistake in the spec file for the SuSE RPM, I'll build it when I get to work on Monday, and see if I can get fixed packages on www.usr-local-bin.org by the end of the day.

Thanks! That will be appreciated. :-) I originally had a lot of ximian packages installed and it seems that most of the ximian devel packages did not have .la libraries in since GNOME2. I reverted to the original SuSE or usr-local-bin packages.
