Hello, My AltF1, AltF3 and AltF5 are not working. AltF2, AltF4 and AltF6 are working as normal. Any idea who to blame for this behaviour of SuSE ?? Regards Umer PS. I have asked this question before but didn't quite get any entertaining responses.......my apologies if this question is too stupid............ -- To unsubscribe send e-mail to suse-linux-e-unsubscribe@suse.com For additional commands send e-mail to suse-linux-e-help@suse.com Also check the FAQ at http://www.suse.com/Support/Doku/FAQ/

Have you checked the settings in the KDE Control Center? If they are ok, you might have a problem with your keyboard. Are the keys working in other applications? By not working do you mean that you can't flip to these virtual consoles or
that they show no login prompt?
Can you give more clues...

This may seem like a silly question, but have you tried using the other ALt key? Once before I thought I had a problem with CTL-ALT_DEL and it was just the ALT I was using wasn't working... gee stupid. Alternatively, make sure you have 1:123:respawn:/sbin/mingetty --noclear tty1 2:123:respawn:/sbin/mingetty tty2 3:123:respawn:/sbin/mingetty tty3 4:123:respawn:/sbin/mingetty tty4 5:123:respawn:/sbin/mingetty tty5 6:123:respawn:/sbin/mingetty tty6 In your inittab.
