[opensuse] Using aria2
I'm trying to use aria2 with no success: # aria2c http://download.packages.ro/metalink/opensuse/openSUSE-10_2-GM-DVD-i386_iso.... Wed Dec 13 23:41:16 2006 - NOTICE - Adding URL: http://download.packages.ro/metalink/opensuse/openSUSE-10_2-GM-DVD-i386_iso.... 0/11,813 Bytes 0% - 0.00 KB/s 1 connections The download was complete. <./openSUSE-10_2-GM-DVD-i386_iso.metalink> # aria2c -M openSUSE-10_2-GM-DVD-i386_iso.metalink The download was not complete because of errors. Check the log. aria2 will resume download if the transfer is restarted. The above commands are from en.opensuse.org/Metalinks. Where is the log? It would be a lot better if they gave the path to the log. Just in case somebody needed to check it. Thanks, Jerome ps I really thought this would work the first time. After all, it should have. Very frustrating when this happens doing the simplest things. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

aria2c --help man aria2c
grep the output of the first for "log" search in the second for "log"
Mmmm. The man says: | -l, --log=LOG | The file path to store log. If '-' is specified, log is | written to stdout. But the error as posted was: | # aria2c -M openSUSE-10_2-GM-DVD-i386_iso.metalink | | The download was not complete because of errors. Check the log. | aria2 will resume download if the transfer is restarted. This is absurd. The message says to "check the log", when the program knows very well that there is no log because none was specified. That is misleading. The message should be thought out better, IMO. - -- Cheers, Carlos E.
