-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 Hi all: I know that the nvidia driver I use for my old video is not an "open" but is the only support acceleration. Well I see that when reboot or power on my PC I must create by hand all files related with /dev/nvidia... :-( Could I write all this in somewhere like /etc/udev or similar to avoid write it each time I reboot the PC? Thanks ..... Hi Chema, add them to /etc/udev/static_devices.txt. Maybe it helps... -- mdc

The device should get created as soon as the driver is loaded (i.e. if you configured your X-Server to use it, this should happen on X startup). If this is not the case, the driver is probably broken. Regards Christoph

Yes, I also have this trouble. And you'r right, the nvidia driver is broken. A new version is expected next weeks, I think, becasuse nvidia's people are aware of the problem regards jorge

Hi Christoph and others: I don't know if the driver is broken, only know that doing that meister said me the problem was solved. :-) Thanks meister. In other way, this driver is for my old video card (I said this before) and is an old driver too (7174).I don't think, nvidia people try solved this,in fact is the last driver nvidia create for my video card. If I like a new one I must buy a new video card. :-( How could I know that the driver is broken? Any special messages in /var/log? Cheers .....
