[SLE] Running KDE 1 and KDE 2 on the same machine
Hello all: There is an instruction covering this at www.kde.org/install-binaries.html, but as usual with things SuSE you are left lollygagging at the trough. In this case there are 2 gaps that I can't fill in. 1. quoting from the instructions by David Faure Add this to ~/.<yourshell>rc (for instance .bashrc, or .zshrc); alias ckdel = 'source /opt/kde2/bin/kde1' alias ckde2 = 'source /opt/kde2/bin/kde2' (these are files created earlier in the instruction) What file should be edited in the SuSE distribution. 2. quoting again On most other distributions, you need to hack /opt/kde/share/config/kdmrc so that it contains "kde2" in the Sessions Types line (this worked) and to add to /etc/X11/xdm/Xsession, in the main "case" statement: kde) source /opt/kde2/bin/kde1 exec startkde ;; kde2) source /opt/kde2/bin/kde2 exec startkde ;; What file does SuSE use for this launch? What SuSE documentation could I have read and saved y'all the trouble?
