* Fred A. Miller (fm@cupserv.org) [001129 13:06]: -**-Ok....just to make sure that the version of M18 from the SuSE site isn't -**-better than the one from mozilla.org, I installed it.......5 mins later, -**-I UNinstalled it. Sorry Ben, it's simply TOO S-L-O-W compared to NS -**-4.76. IF performance improves to where it should be, then I'll gladly -**-use it. --
Konqueror runs pretty good for me. What it won't do is allow me to login at SourceForge (SSL problems). And, there are some sites, those with dynamic graphics, that it won't display. But, it will do something NS 4.76 won't do..... display a radar loop without crashing., or display a 1km resolution weather map. It will probably be six months to a year before Konqueror matches NS 4.76, but I am using it for 95% of my browsing needs. It is light and fast. and downloads well, except for those sites that fire IE type scripts. JLK Scientific theories, according to Sir Karl Popper, can be "falsified," or proven wrong, by experiment. Unscientific theories -Marxist dialectical history and Freudian psychology were Popper's favorites- are formed in such a way that they cannot be falsified by data.

Netscape crashed a lot less often when I started waiting for the Java to completely load and start looping the display before I tried to scroll down so I could see it. HTH, Jeffrey
