Re: Re: [SLE] Print job queued, but can't start daemon
The statement 'START_LPD=yes' is present in my 'rc.config' file.
Is there anything reported in the file "/var/log/messages"
that would help??
Furthermore, double check that "ldp" is actually running,
by typing the following:
ps aux | grep ldp

Output shows that ldp is running. Lawrence Sayre --------------------------------------------- "Man's mind is his basic tool of survival!" (a quote from the famous 'John Galt' speech in the equally famous book "Atlas Shrugged") ---------------------------------------------

Also, in Linux my printer continues to spew out pages of corrupted "mouse text" if left turned on, so I have it off at present. I dual boot under lilo, and if I boot Win98 the printer works like a charm, so no obvious problems on that end. The only thing that catches my eye are the statements: modprobe can't locate module char-major-108 (only saw this one once) modprobe can't locate module char-major-5 (see this one repeatedly) Is there something specific I should look for here?
