I have seen the message, just do not remember which version of evolution and which version of SuSE. If you try and load evolution from a teminal, there is usually a slightly better indication of the exact problem. Try: 1. reloading evolution, especially from a term and see what the messages in the term say, or 2. as of today I have received confirmation from Ximian that bonobo-conf AND libbononbo-cond are both required for evolution. Neither is/was loaded by the Ximian installer. Make sure that you have both of these files. If you are using Ximian desktop opem up redcarpet and go to the Ximian desktop subscribed channel and click on install. You will see the two packages there to install. Red Carpet will do everything for you. I hope this was of help! Bob On Wed, 2001-09-05 at 18:02, telco soltn wrote:

Hello Dennis: If you go to http://www.ximian.com/about_us I believe you can answer those questions about how Ximian fits into Gnome. If not let me know and I will try to answer your question with what I know. Bob On Thu, 2001-09-06 at 07:23, Dennis J. Tuchler wrote:

Well, I fired up Red-Carpet and it gives me about 30 pkgs that I can upgrade including Evolution 0.13.X. I check them all and click update and it says "Failed Dependencies" and doesn't do a damn thing. I told it to look for other updates..it said it was updating pilot-link and I figured that was a good thing..until it uninstalled pilot-link and jpilot ..THIS is the reason I don't like the "auto update ..tell you what you need " crap. Anyone have any ideas as to how to get these dependencies corrected since it can't download them..and I don't know where RC gets it's updates from? Using Red Carpet from ximian gnome menu, subscribe to the ximian channel, click on install, it will show you what packages have not been installed from ximian, find and check bonobo-conf and libbonobo-conf, then install packages.
