Screen Capture in SuSe 8.0
What program comes with SuSE 8.0 that allows you to capture the screen to a JPG file? I've tried xgrab but it creates a huge ppm file.

I think you can use xv for this, or what about saving to a png file? you could use ksnapshot for that. cheers, Marcel

Depends on what you want. If you just want to grab a rectangle, xv is the better choice. GIMP (and ksnapshot) are only able to grab the whole desktop or the window you point at. There are probably a lot more apps for screen grabbing. XV and ksnapshot came to mind as being lightweight apps that could do this quick. cheers, Marcel

Open an xterm window, and use: import <filename>.xxx where xxx can be .jpg .png and what else you want as extension. -- Med venlig hilsen - Best regards - Vy 73 de oz4kk Erik Jakobsen - erik@urbakken.dk SuSE 8.0.
