Okay, I just thought of something I missed. If you're trying to use jpilot, then you'll need to grab jpilot-0.99.3 and make sure it's linked to the new pilot-link. OK, I'll try that. However I played with kpilot 4.3.0b and had no sucess. With jpilot I just get following message:could not open /home/wojtek/.jpilot/Saved Preferences.prc: No such file or directory.
Do I need create file .jpilot/Saved Preferences.prc? And if so what do I need to put in it? Still can't connect!

I believe that it should be /dev/ttyUSB1. You may need to press the hotsync button, and then fire off the sync.
I did made that link in kpilot. No go. Any other ideas? thaks for help. W.

Not true. SuSE 8.0 ships with pilot-link 0.9.3, which works just fine with my Visor Deluxe.
I do not know if this works, but I was clueles, trying to conect my Clie, and I did this: A) Enable module visor (/sbin/modprob visor) B) Check /var/log/message.. the very last part. Then hit the hot sync button on your craddle, after a few seconds you will hear a "bip". reload /var/log/message and you'll see something like this: kernel: hub.c: USB new device connect on bus1/1, assigned device number 2 kernel: usbserial.c: Sony Clie 4.0 converter detected kernel: visor.c: Sony Clie 4.0: Number of ports: 2 kernel: visor.c: Sony Clie 4.0: port 1, is for Generic use and is bound to ttyUSB0 kernel: visor.c: Sony Clie 4.0: port 2, is for HotSync use and is bound to ttyUSB1 kernel: visor.c: visor_startup - error getting first unknown palm command kernel: visor.c: visor_startup - error getting second unknown palm command kernel: usbserial.c: Sony Clie 4.0 converter now attached to ttyUSB0 (or usb/tts/0 for devfs) kernel: usbserial.c: Sony Clie 4.0 converter now attached to ttyUSB1 (or usb/tts/1 for devfs) If you want to double check this run in konsole usbview (you may need to install it with yast). It will tell you what is in your USB ports. Run it, hit hot sync, and once you hear the bip, hit refresh. C) This is where I got stuck for a while. At least in my computer the palm connects to /dev/usb/ttyUSB1. Do a chmod 777 /dev/usb/ttyUSB1 to give permission to everybody to use the device. D) Also, it seems that if you have password enabled in your palm, you have to disable it (at least with gnome-pilot). E) And that should be it.. the rest would be specific to gnome pilot, which is what I use... for the moment. __________________________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? Yahoo!
