Hi. On my SuSE 10.0 I have just plugged in a USB Stick. I changed my /etc/fstab with: /dev/sdb /media/usb auto noauto, user 0 0 Shall I then mount the usb unit with: mount /dev/sdb /media/usb ? Erik Jakobsen

When you mount a file system that's listed in fstab, you specify either the device or mount point, not both. You'd use both, only if you want a mount that's not in fstab.

Hi Erik, In your fstab, you forgot the partition number. I guess it's 1 so your fstab line should become: /dev/sdb1 /media/usb auto noauto, user 0 0 When you plug your stick in, you can see in /var/log/messages what partitions are recognised. type (as root) : tail -f /var/log/messages and look for /dev/sdb of just plain sdb (1, 2 etc...)
