Hi all! I am thinking in the line of a "powerserver" and a multihead (3-5 heads) X-client. Everything is ran on the "server" and i just use the client to view desktop etc. I know the bandwidth is crucial, but with Gigabit NIC's falling in price.. But the question is; What requirements does the client have/need. How much cpu? How much memory? Bandwith? Is Gigabit enough to smoothly show 3-5 heads? I know i can run it diskless if needed. Any clues? -- /Rikard ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Rikard Johnels email : rikjoh@norweb.se Web : http://www.rikjoh.com Mob : +46 735 05 51 01 ------------------------ Public PGP fingerprint ---------------------------- < 15 28 DF 78 67 98 B2 16 1F D3 FD C5 59 D4 B6 78 46 1C EE 56 >
I think 1GB NIC in the server and 10/100 on the clients would be fine if you use a switch. On Wed, 2004-09-15 at 10:31, Rikard Johnels wrote:
