[opensuse] 10.3 is best SUSE ever, but
I want to use iwl395 instead of iwp3945. But this doesn't work. After the fastest setup of Linux on a Notebook, i have some issues. In Yast, iwl394 is selected but not used, if i manually remove ipw3945 and modprobe iwl3945, i get this: Oct 5 19:41:01 erwin kernel: iwl3945: Intel(R) PRO/Wireless 3945ABG/BG Network Connection driver for Linux, 1.1.0 Oct 5 19:41:01 erwin kernel: iwl3945: Copyright(c) 2003-2007 Intel Corporation Oct 5 19:41:01 erwin kernel: ACPI: PCI Interrupt 0000:03:00.0[A] -> GSI 17 (level, low) -> IRQ 17 Oct 5 19:41:01 erwin kernel: PCI: Setting latency timer of device 0000:03:00.0 to 64 Oct 5 19:41:01 erwin kernel: iwl3945: Detected Intel PRO/Wireless 3945ABG Network Connection Oct 5 19:41:01 erwin kernel: iwl3945: Tunable channels: 13 802.11bg, 23 802.11a channels Oct 5 19:41:01 erwin kernel: wmaster0: Selected rate control algorithm 'iwl-3945-rs' Oct 5 19:41:01 erwin kernel: wmaster0 renamed to eth1 Oct 5 19:41:01 erwin kernel: udev: renamed network interface wmaster0 to eth1 Oct 5 19:41:01 erwin kernel: wlan0 renamed to wlan0_rename Oct 5 19:41:01 erwin ifup: interface 'eth1' is a wlan helper interface. Exiting. I get only wlan0_rename and cannot configure it. I can only set essid and key with iwconfig but the card doesn't work So can i only use ipw3945? -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

Your lucky your ipw3945 card works.. Mine does not.. Will not attach to Wireless Router when using NetworkManager, only ifup. Here comes the stupid question. What's the difference between ipw and iw? -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org
