That may also explain my troubles. I have a P4 that I set up with the 7.3 last year that I'm now using, that was setup as a minimal install. Yesterday I also installed a default with KDE on a PIII. The PIII also has the USB working and an interesting borer on tty1. What other packages did you find missing? I did add wget and it still can't find the packages. I'm now having a recollection of a setting in rc.config that tells it to get the list.
