Re: [SLE] YAST Online Update error: 'kdesu: cannot connect to X server'
Ryan,
Sorry, Beats me. Maybe its a bug??(Sorry people)....
My SGI Prism running SLES 9 is also very temperament
;) ;) Sometime things just mysteriously worked. ;) ;)
;) Not complaining here.... ;) ;)
One thing I found out is, if you are having problem
with your installation process (anywhere in the
process) the chances of these unexplainable bugs
appear will greatly increase. If you have a clean
install, it will behave like it should.

Simon,
Thank you for the response. When i run "yast2" then navigate to Online Update I still get the error, however, when I run "yast2 online_update" it launches fine.
I am in runlevel 3. I have other servers that run at level 3 and after sshing into to any of those boxes, i dont have this problem.
Any ideas?

case when you run yast2 or you (alias of 'yast2 online_update') from command line it should bring up
the text mode version.

the box started as a sles 8 box and was upgraded to
sles 9.
here are a few things that might be helpful in figuring this out.
