21/22 inch monitor recommendation / brickbats
Only relevant in so far as I want to know it would work perfectly with a recent SuSE version, but I'm looking for positive or negative comments on 21/22 inch CRTs people are using, I want it primarily for graphics work. Any faults with particular models gratefully collected. I've got a 22" Mitsubishi Diamond Pro 2060u. Works great w/ a NVidia GeForce2 card and 9.1. Michael

If you have the horizontal and vertical scanrates for the monitor (if you buy it new you'll have it in th manual/on the box/somewhere), any monitor will work properly. As far large monitors go, I must say I was blown away by the Cornerstone monitors I've seen. Their "baby" model is (or was, I think it was discontinued in favour of a bigger one) the P1400 iirc - 19" job that can handle 1600x1200@85hz and go up to 2048xWhatever - which is where I maxed out the graphics card, dunno if the screen would have gone further. All the while maintaining excellent picture quality. As were local to one another, I'd recommend going down to Bowlers this weekend. A store just inside the main entrance does nothing but large monitors. Take along a knoppix disk and you'll be able to judge for yourself. Regards, Ben
