Is it recommended to upgrade gcc to 3.1? Are there any rpms available for 7.3 from SuSE? Thank You, Anthony

Are there any rpms available for 7.3 from SuSE?
Not exactly, but have a look at ftp://ftp.gwdg.de/pub/linux/suse/people/aj/Current_Toolchain/i386 There you'll find current versions of the tool chain (binutils, gcc, glibc, gdb and a compat package with older versions of needed libraries) these were *not* specifically built for 7.3 but should be installable on a 7.3.
From /pub/linux/suse/people/aj/Current_Toolchain/README:
----------------------------------------------------------------- Note This directory contains current versions of the tool chain: - GCC 3.1.x - binutils - glibc 2.2.5 - GDB 5.2 The packages are distributed for a number of architectures. WARNING: These packages are completely untested and absolutely unsupported. ---------------------------------------------------------------- Philipp
Thanks Alot! Anthony
