Outlook pst files into KMail
Is there a way to get Outlook pst files into KMail? I see options for Outlook Express (OE), but I don't see one for Outlook. I just tried loading the Outlook files and KMail complains that it doesn't see any OE pst files. Any ideas? I am sure I can't be the only one that want to drop the evil ones! :) eric

I kinda already answered my question. I found information on KDE.org. The information mostly says go from Outlook to evolution then to KMail. There are already a few guys at my workplace who use Evolution and are happy with it. So, I fired it up on my laptop and it is much faster in syncing with my IMAP server. I think I'll look over Evolution for now and see what happens. eric

You can try readpst to convert the pst file to mbox which can be read by
Kmail:

Hi, as well you may try to use some IMAP server as intermediate. Just copy the messages throu it. As far as I remember readpst has some limitations, and may corrupt some messages. Cheers Sunny -- Get Firefox http://www.spreadfirefox.com/?q=affiliates&id=10745&t=85
Dear Sunny, i got 1.4 Gb of emails to transfer ... so i think that

will not be the easiest solution ;) What do you think about it ? OK, another suggestion (still some manual work): Import in Outlook Express and then use Kmails import from OE? I found this post: http://www.thisishull.net/showthread.php?t=53460 Cheers Sunny -- Get Firefox http://www.spreadfirefox.com/?q=affiliates&id=10745&t=85

Once I did it using Netscape (not mozilla) in windows to import the mailboxes. Right now, I don't remember if it was netscape 4.7 or 6, but it has to be the windows version, with outlook installed, because it uses windows apis and dlls for the conversion. Once in Netscape, remember that it uses the mbox format, and that can be used directly in linux under many clients, including kmail. Or, if you double boot, you can share the same windows folders with mozilla, both linux and windows versions, to send/receive/read/write. You can find my notes on this in the unofficial suse faq of Togan Muftuoglu. -- Cheers, Carlos Robinson

If you select all messages and click forward, then before actually forwarding them save all attachments, you'll get a load of .eml files. I think there is a utility to convert .eml to mbox. Google. for it.
