Can someone delete this fritz.box bozo from the list? When ever I post

To: james.knott@rogers.com This is the mail system at host c10.fritz.box.
And you forwarded to opensuse+owner@opensuse.org as many times advised, since the posting here *probably* will not be seen (with full headers)? -- (paka)Patrick Shanahan Plainfield, Indiana, USA @ptilopteri http://en.opensuse.org openSUSE Community Member facebook/ptilopteri http://wahoo.no-ip.org Photo Album: http://wahoo.no-ip.org/gallery2 Registered Linux User #207535 @ http://linuxcounter.net -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org

He did actually post the full headers ;-) But yes, he needs to forward to the owner. The real person seems to be in this header: X-Apparently-To: oss_lnx at yahoo.de; -- Cheers / Saludos, Carlos E. R. (from 13.1 x86_64 "Bottle" at Telcontar)

c10.fritz.box is not a genuine address, it's probably just somebody's Fritz!Box (a modem/router). I think the real culprit might be "oss_lnx@yahoo.de". Here's my sieve rule: if body :text :regex "^This is the mail system at host c10.fritz.box" { discard; stop; } It's been in place for a week now when the Fritz!box started bouncing old messages. -- Per Jessen, Zürich (15.8°C) http://www.hostsuisse.com/ - virtual servers, made in Switzerland. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org

I'm in doubt that c10.fritz.box is a Fritz!Box ... maybe there a host or virtual host c10 (Linux/MAC/Android/Windos) which is connected via a Fritz!Box and the owner of this Fritz!Box has choosen a domain name "fritz.box" instead of "box". Nevertheless the host's MTA does not masquerade "fritz.box" nor "box" with the real domain name that the DSL/Cable/Fiber/LTE provider has configured for mails. I also have a filter on fritz. But shouldn't the system be seeing the rejected messages? I know that if messages don't make it to me, I get notified about it, on a few lists. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org

That only works when the messages are bounced to the list-manager, and these are clearly bounced to the sender, i.e. you and me. I'm sure I saw quite old ones too, when the circus opened last week. -- Per Jessen, Zürich (18.2°C) http://www.hostsuisse.com/ - dedicated server rental in Switzerland. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org

Interestingly, I have not seen any of those. I guess that my ISP is bouncing them for me :-} -- Cheers / Saludos, Carlos E. R. (from 13.1 x86_64 "Bottle" at Telcontar)

Yes, that is interesting. Initially I thought it would be rejected due to the sender address not being found, but the message is sent by <>, which should always be accepted. I have just checked some old deleted messages - I got the first one in February! Back then it was from "sec_lnx@c01.fritz.box", and the bounced mail was really sent to "sec_lnx@yahoo.de". /Per -- Per Jessen, Zürich (13.6°C) http://www.hostsuisse.com/ - virtual servers, made in Switzerland. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org

"<>"? I can't verify, that part doesn't include the full headers.

Yes, I see hits on fritz.box in my logs, January and February, several variations. Some recent "@c10.fritz.box" in the msgid. Some classified as spam, although a quick search does not locate them. -- Cheers / Saludos, Carlos E. R. (from 13.1 x86_64 "Bottle" at Telcontar)

<> = empty = no sender. Basically a way to ensure the bounce message doesn't bounce :-) -- Per Jessen, Zürich (17.7°C) http://www.dns24.ch/ - your free DNS host, made in Switzerland. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org

Sorry, I misunderstood. I think I saw it in one of those from Feb. -- Per Jessen, Zürich (18.0°C) http://www.dns24.ch/ - free dynamic DNS, made in Switzerland. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org
