OK. I'm trying to build a program called Gramps on my SuSE 9.1 64bit system. I got through the first command "autogen.sh" without any errors. I even tried "linux32 sh ./autogen.sh" and it also ran without errors.
I tried with and without running "./configure --enable-libsuffix=64" and it ran without any errors.
Check carefully, you probably have a ton of unsatisfied dependencies. I just ran thru this and had to install over a dozen packages to get it to run clean thru the ./autogen.sh --enable-libsuffix=64 Once autogen is clean, you'll find *more* missing packages when you run make. Gnome stuff, python stuff, things like pkgconfig and a bunch of development stuff will be required to get a clean compile. It's a royal pain..... And, after all that, I get this when I try to run 'gramps'..... gramps Traceback (most recent call last): File "/usr/local/share/gramps/gramps.py", line 80, in ? import gramps_main File "/usr/local/share/gramps/gramps_main.py", line 45, in ? import gnome.ui ImportError: could not import bonobo.ui Good luck and have fun!
